Q How much does STAR cost?
A standard STAR restraint is available for purchase online at $148.86. A STAR with Chest Srap option is available for purchase online at $153.25. Q Does STAR require the use of lap belts or lap-shoulder belts?
The system was designed for use with school bus seats with or without belts.

Q What Federal and State safety requirements does STAR meet?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sets the standards for school buses and child restraints, these standards are known as Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or FMVSS. The STAR meets and exceeds FMVSS 213 requirements for safety restraints on school buses. STAR also meets requirements for Title 45 Part 1310 for Head Start Transportation if your state approves vests and cam wrap restraints.

Q Does STAR meet Head Start requirements?
STAR meets all requirements of Title 45, Part 1310, sections 1310.10 and 1310.15.

Q What are the weight and height specifications for STAR?
The STAR was designed, manufactured and tested for children 25-65 pounds and 47 inches tall.

Q What type of school bus seat can it fit?
STAR fits all regular school bus seat manufacturers 24" low back and 28" high back seats and no belts are required.

Q Do I need the chest strap?
The chest strap is designed for use with special needs children who need additional upper body support to sit in the seat.

Q How can I test the STAR before purchasing a large quantity for our transportation program?
You can purchase one STAR, try out the system, and return it for any reason within 90 days of the purchase date for a full refund.

Q How do I clean STAR?
You can clean the webbing, gray padding and flexible base with a damp cloth using a mild soap solution and lukewarm water. The gray padding can be easily removed and machine washed in cold water and tumbled dry on low heat. Replacement pads are available by calling the customer service representative at 877-447-2305.

Q How do I store my STAR?
A convenient storage bag is available to easily store STAR on the bus, in the undercarriage or in the transportation office. To view the storage bag visit www.safeguardseat.com/star.

Q How to purchase the STAR storage bag?
