* NOTE
Lower LATCH anchors:
Required in all vehicles under 8500 pounds as of the 2003 model year. Some vehicles, such as very large SUVs, some large pickup trucks, and 12-15 passenger vans exceed 8500 pounds, so are not required to lower anchors.
Tether Anchors:
All seating positions with lower anchors also have a tether anchor. All new vehicles up to 8500 pounds are required to have factory-installed tether anchors as of the 2001 model year. The only exception is convertibles (and vehicles > 8500 pounds).
