SafeGuard Now a Standard Featured on Corbeil Kidette
Coreil is the first in the bus industry to make SafeGuard a standard.
Westfield, Indiana…September 21, 2004 –The SafeGuard® brand of child safety products from IMMI announces that the SafeGuard Bus Seat, with upgradeable features, will be standard in all the 2005 Corbeil Kidette model buses. Corbeil is the first bus manufacturer in the industry to offer SafeGuard Bus Seat as a standard feature.
The standard SafeGuard seat in the Kidette will be a 32 inch gray vinyl seat with lap belts. The upgradeable feature allows the bus dealer to easily upgrade the seats with lap-shoulder belts or LATCH attachments at the dealer’s location, without waiting for replacements and not requiring the vehicle to be recertified.
“This upgradeable feature will allow churches, child care providers, and other organizations, to easily change the seat to include lap and shoulder belts that comply with Federal and State safety standards changes in the future.” Said Gary Plumton, vice president of sales for Corbeil.
Kidette purchasers who transport children can also add the SafeGuard STAR (Student Transportation Add-on Restraint) at the dealer as an add-on feature. The STAR is an add-on restraint that utilizes cam wrap technology with a five-point restraint with a flexible base, used when transporting children weighing 25 to 65 pounds. STAR is an important feature to Child care providers, churches and organizations that transport children because they are required by law to use a height and weight-appropriate restraint when transporting children under 40 pounds.

The Kidette model exceeds all of the requirements for a Multi-Function School Activity Bus (MFSAB) and comes standard with many features most manufacturers consider optional.
